Here we have the 3^rd Volume on the ‘How To Guides Series’ by Mr Black Publications. This book inaugurates our entrance into Small Military Scale Models, 1/72 and 1/76, taking the opportunity from the work of the Master in this field Alex Clark. Most of us started out in the hobby with 1/76 and 1/72 scale models and figures, but later we turned to 1/35 and 1/32 scale for military themes and figures, or 1/48 for aircraft. When the company began in 2011 we promised that our editions would include all scale model categories and themes. However, after 13 years on the market we didn’t have the opportunity to get into smaller scales, until now, with the help of a 1/72 Model Scale Master, Alex Clark. Of course, a lot more themes in different categories and scales, also with 1/76 scale models, and 1/72 quick builds and more will follow, and also Military Vignettes and Dioramas will be featured in our future editions.

Alex Clark made an extensive conversion for an accurate representation of an Iraqi Type 69-II in 1/72 scale. He used as a base the T-54B Mid Production kit from AMMO Mig Jimenez A.MIG-8502. We decided to present in detail all the stuff, or at least the most stuff we could find, as a lot of it is now out of production. So, here we present the relevant scale models, photo-etched, brass accessories, resin tracks, decal sets, paints, weathering materials, reference books and more. Alex explains in detail the conversion and upgrade using his scratch-built parts, but also available commercial parts. We have 57 photos from a total of 73 showing not only the amazing assembly work, but also the painting and the weathering process of the vehicle. The photos are reproduced in the largest format we could use so everything can be seen in detail.

A nice addition is the detailed walk around of a preserved Type 69-II command tank at the Bovington Tank Museum in the UK with 27 close-up photos. The photos are published with the owner, Scott Dimmick’s permission for which we thank him a lot! The captions were written by Alex Clark.

The contents of the book continue with the detailed presentation of Alex Clark’s Used Stuff and Relevant Scale Models, Photo-etched, Brass Accessories, Resin Tracks, Paints, Weathering Materials and More. This part of the book has been produced by Mr Black Publications Team and Stelios Demiras, over 36 pages. It is like a small encyclopaedia for what is available in the market. Here we have about 120 photos that show in detail the contents of the kits, photo-etched accessories, resin tracks and parts, plastic accessories, paints, weathering materials, decals sets, instruction guides and a lot of profiles for making some unique T-54/T-55/T-59/T-69 and all of their variants.

Where we thought necessary we added a lot of historical data and information like the list of conflicts that these vehicles took part in, as they were in the factory but also as with conversions, upgrades and transformations that where made by each user. In total we have about 200 photographs!

A big thank you must go to Alex Clark, a great artist who gave us the opportunity to publish such a unique book.
